    Position Summary:

     

    Under the direction of the Quality and Compliance Director, and in collaboration with the IT Manager, the RN Clinical IT Specialist uses clinical knowledge to develop and test work processes involving Casa’s EHR software. The RN Clinical IT Specialist supports end users and serves as a resource to the Quality Assessment & Performance Improvement (QAPI) department. The RN Clinical IT Specialist promotes delivery of superior care for patients and their loved ones according to Casa’s goals, Mission, Core Values and in accordance with state and federal regulations.

      

     

    Responsibilities

    Some of the essential responsibilities of the RN Clinical IT Specialist include:

    1. Collaborates in clinical and operational projects; tests software changes prior to implementation; regularly participates with QAPI department in the evaluation of implemented changes on work processes.
    2. Assists QAPI department in obtaining needed data for quality reporting purposes.
    3. Provides end user support and guidance regarding use of EHR software.
    4. Responsible for recognizing and reporting urgent concerns to Quality and Compliance Director and/or IT Manager.
    5. Provides clinical application support as needed; includes VPN connectivity, password resets, software testing and implementation planning.
    6. Participates in special projects as assigned by the Quality and Compliance Director and with input from the IT Manager. 
    7. Responsible for gathering information required to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
    8. Identifies and prioritizes issues; determines the most appropriate course of action, including escalation to appropriate higher level support.
    9. May provide problem resolution for other applications such as Microsoft products, Webex courses and web browsers.

    Qualifications

    1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Registered Nurse with current Arizona license, current CPR, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
    2. Prefer two years recent nursing experience, preferably in hospice or home care setting; one to two years experience in a technical support position; prior experience implementing clinical information systems and/or computer certification a plus.
    3. Proficiency with Microsoft office, including Access.
    4. Ability to quickly become the subject matter expert in departmental protocols, processes and work flow.
    5. Demonstrated ability in project management with emphasis on streamlining, automating and documenting processes in accordance with established schedule.
    6. Demonstrated analytical, organizational and problem solving skills to improve efficiency and patient care in conjunction with the clinical information system.
    7. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all end users. Excellent customer service skills as well as oral and written communication skills required.
