Position Summary:


Under the direction of the Quality and Compliance Director, acts as a centralized resource with responsibility for staff education, patient safety and day-to-day support of the QAPI (Quality Assessment Performance Improvement) program. Supports clinical training in the electronic medical record.   



Some of the essential responsibilities of the RN QAPI Coordinator include:

  1. Plans, designs, and implements effective staff education and training programs.
  2. Participates in Casa’s QAPI Program, conducting audits and monitoring data.
  3. Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements.
  4. Coordinates the implementation of improved work methods and procedures.
  5. Resonsible for reviewing and maintaining patient safety.
  6. Responsible for Hospice Item Set Abstraction (HIS) process. Completes chart review, completion of HIS records, and submission to CMS per regulatory requirements.
  7. Performs weekly timesheet audit process.
  8. Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of Casa de la Luz policy and procedures.
  9. Reviews staff members’ documentation and provides training regarding Medicare requirements.
  10. Serves as a resource for staff, providing clinical and clinical IT support.
  11. Participates in Clinical IT call responsibilities.


  1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Master’s Degree in health care or related field preferred.
  2. Registered Nurse with a license to practice in the state of Arizona.
  3. At least three to five years’ experience in health care, preferably in hospice care operations.
  4. Skilled in data management, analysis and critical thinking.                            
  5. Demonstrated understanding of Medicare Conditions of Participation, federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to hospice programs.
  6. Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
